Teri2

This is Teri McAllister.  She's the president and the founder of Recycled Pets, Inc.  As usual, she's surrounded by dogs.  She wouldn't be happy any other way!  Not only does she run RPI, but as a dog groomer at a veterinarian's office, she's around dogs and cats all day long.  Her tireless energy and devotion to animals are an inspiration to us all.

 Barb Henrickson

This is Barbara Henrickson.  "I am a member of the Board and a long time volunteer.  Before moving out of state, I fostered dogs and a few cats, volunteered at Petsmart and rescued hundreds of dogs and cats from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Control.  The first rescue that I ever made from CMAC was a long-haired chihuahua named Taco.  He had two broken legs and my sons and I raised money for his vet bill.  After nursing him back to health, we couldn't part with him and he is still the most treasured member of our family.  I now live in West Virginia, but continue to volunteer by creating and maintaining this website, and designing brochures and flyers to benefit Recycled Pets, Inc."

angela

This is Angela Shutes.  "I live in Tega Cay, SC and transferred here from the suburbs of Detroit 2 years ago.  I felt so blessed to be able to make this positive move that I wanted to start giving back somehow.  My husband Mike and I have 3 dogs, an Australian Cattle Dog and 2 Weimaraners.  Since I love animals, especially dogs, I wanted to find a volunteer opportunity that would help animals.  When I saw a spot on Channel 2 about Recycled Pets and how practically all of the proceeds donated go straight to the animals, I gave Teri a call.  I’ve been volunteering at Recycled Pets for over a year and a half now.  It has been wonderful to see all the improvements done to the shelter thanks to the generous donations, other volunteers' efforts and, of course, Teri’s tireless dedication and vision for the shelter.  It's hard work, but I enjoy interacting with the dogs and cats and hope my visit once a week makes their lives a little brighter while they wait to be adopted into their forever homes."

This is Roxie Wolfe.  "This my australian shepherd named Colt that I fostered with Recycled Pets and later adopted. Colt and I participate in rally and obedience, and we're just starting agility. He is a wonderful addition to our animal family, and he is my best canine friend. I have adopted several of the pets that I now have from Recycled Pets. They are all a blessing and a joy to have in our family. I have known Teri and been a foster home and volunteer with Recycled Pets for many years. I feel privileged to be able to help and work with such a wonderful organization and a great group of people so dedicated to helping unwanted animals."

Tammi

This is Tammi Alexander.  "I have been volunteering with Recycled Pets, Inc. for almost 8 yrs.  I work full time in the Insurance industry, am married and have a six year old son.  I have four rescue dogs, three of whom are from Recycled Pets.  Had we known about Recycled Pets before we got our first rescue, we would have most likely adopted from Teri.  But we would not change our decision because we love our Sheibah dog.  I have been fostering for about 7 years for Teri and find it is very rewarding.  Training the animals to be responsible and trustworthy in the house and teaching them manners, watching them grow into the wonderful animals we all know they are.  I do have a little attachment issue as I have kept 2 of my fosters, but they are now both 6 years old.  We have our struggles, and there have been many, but for the most part Recycled Pets does what is best for the animals in their care.  We do our best to keep them happy, healthy and loved.  I love my work here and wish it paid well, because I would honestly love to do it full time."
