Uma is a special little girl.  She was born approx. 4/2/08.  She has no hair at all except for a sprig or two.  She has an autoimmune disease---she cannot ever have any vaccines nor certain anitbotics as they will certainly kill her. She is a sweet,  very loving dog who needs a protective enviornment. Great with dogs, playful, charming, and sometimes spunky.

All we know is that Uma is allergic to vaccines. She has had no health problems as long as she is not vaccinated.To do exhaustive medical tests for more insight is beyond our means, it would be expensive beyond what a rescue has dollars for. Her health is extremely good. All allergies to vaccines are relegated to autoimmune sensitivity. It is not uncommon. We held onto her for three years to insure her health pattern was good.

 For anyone interested, Immunizations (or vaccines) are intended to stimulate the immune system so as to protect the animal from the infectious agent. However, this stimulation may cause some minor symptoms. A pet may react to immunizations in ways that range from soreness at the site of injection to mild fever to allergic reactions, which can range from mild to severe.She had a moderate reaction. It was not extreme.

• Dogs are up-to-date on shots, wormed, on heartworm preventative, microchipped and altered(spayed/neutered), prior to adoption.
