Molly is a 1 year old brown and carmel beagle/hound dog. She was rescued by my wife and I while we were on a vacation in Aruba. We were laying out at the pool when an iguana fell from a tree and broke his leg. The Marriott directed us to a shelter in down town Aruba to get him care. When we arrived at the shelter, there was this little (40lbs) dog standing in a jail like cage calmly looking at us. When we inquired about the status of the dog, they told us that she was about to be put down in a few minutes!! Apparently the family that had her brought her in to the shelter because they no longer had money to take care of her. My wife and I made the decision on the spot to rescue her from certain death. We were leaving the next day so we had to act quickly. We found a vet that would take her in and check her out. She was very healthy but needed shots. We had to leave her in Aruba for a month per US regulations before she could travel. After a month of boarding in Aruba and being handled by many different compassionate people at various airlines and kennels, she arrived in Charlotte, NC. I had already found a family that wanted to take her prior to her arrival. The family that took her kept her for about 2 months when they were informed that their little boy had autism. This was quite a blow to the family and they decided that they had too much going on to care for a high energy dog.
Molly is very energetic and social. When you sit and pet her, she becomes very calm enjoying the affection. She has had all of her shots and has been spayed. She will make a great addition to any family that has time to spend with her as she needs a lot of attention.
